I know its all early & I guess the admins are busy away chatting & coming up with what idea`s to put forward but ......

What format are we thinking of here ?
Ladder / league / different divisions for different squads skill levels etc

Game types
Selected or mixed
or all ?

I know its way too early to say but there deffo be promod I expect ,any others on the horizon ?

HC / vanilla etc ?

I know all the above depends on so much that answering it is a bit of a mine field but can you post the ideas you have regarding the COD section todate .

Hi Gis,

In answer to your first question Gis, the format initially will probably be a ladder which will run alongside cups and events.
Eurokrieg want to appeal to all types of COD teams and not aim for a specific group. We are hoping to cater for teams who play HC, vanilla, promod, HC promod along with gametypes such as S&D,SAB and CTF. This is obviously dependant on what the match mods on offer to us and obviously the interest shown at Eurokrieg in these specific gametypes & particular match mods. More than likely, S&D will be the most popular gametype plus we don`t know what new gametypes will be available with MW2, so maybe a little to soon to say. Also a mixed gametype ladder is always an option to gametypes with less interest.

Whatever the gametype/mod is the preference for your team Gis, I assume you know similar teams who you `scrim` against so you could help Eurokrieg and your team by directing them to Eurokrieg.

Well it looks like IW have killed any plans of a competative MW2 league of any kind with the IW.NET system. Most of our clan members (50+) have now cancelled their preorders

Without any public information from IW it has become clear it must be true other wise it would of been crashed in a instance if not so.

So Same ere all uT`s pre-orders canceled .

yip looks like mw2 and competitive could be down the pan unless IW back down and give us dedi support but i think thats pretty unlikely.

By looking around the communities I think COD4 will be revamped or even COD5 is an option.

As far as I know Eurokrieg will still host a CoD related ladder/leagues/cups but this is dependant on what happens over the next month within the CoD communities.

Watch this space tbh :)

there appears to be a few rumblings after the annoucement
http://gamersnexus.net/component/conten ... -community

It appears that a petition with over 70,000 signitures on may have opened there eyes to a problem that they did not percieve would be anywhere near as large. I would also expect that the feedback from online retailers over the huge number of pre ordes cancelled may well make them sit up and pay attention if nothing else.

Josh visited IW's Steam site tonight and found a new game IP port, in a range that looks very similar to a dedi-server: 64.111.160.25:28965. Could IW be trying a dedicated server? There was someone in there until the wee hours...

After listening to the hour & half broadcast I think personally that something will happen , doubt IW will do anything in the short term well they can`t its abit to late & to near to the disc being produced but either they may patch it or some clever git will hack into the codes of the game & figure something out ie porting MW2 maps over to COD4 for an example, I don`t exactly know what but there`s alot of clever people out there in our community who will .

But it does make it clear that that IW arent interested in the PC format & trying to turn it into the controled format of the consoles which isn`t going to happen & obversely they don`t understand the PC community at all .

Like alot of squads we will be just be going into cod4 & not even worrying about MW2 until something happens.

Hi

Wat about the fact that they say that you can create "private servers" , how good would that be?...

I quote:

Clans can set up private matches to do their training or what have you; all they lose is the ability to customize the game on a deeper level with mods and such.

However, say you’re in a clan and you want to play a Clan match with another team, or you want to practice for an upcoming tournament that has specific rules in a private game. Then you can start a Private Match (which is essentially like running your own private server) where you have complete control over the rules, who can join, boot players you don’t want, and essentially control the entire game or tweak it to your liking. Once the rules are set, you can invite the other team in or just start it up with your clan to practice with the custom rules before the match. This now allows you to play custom games out of the box without the need to install mods, find a modded server with the rules you like, or worry about not being in control of the match.

Im not sure if ur being sarcastic but unless IWNET has some new uber technology ... would you want to play an important say cup match with your team on a clients server that it hosted by someone on the other side of Europe?

Lets hope they have this `uber technology` and are possibly going to go down the route of having some match mods as DLC.

Well i am disapointed by their attitude , but i am going to buy the game at least for the single player.

I will give the MP a go too, but if the pings are all over the place etc.. then no thanks

Well once you`ve done that its money in their pockets & their give even less of a fook about the PC format as they will know that that ur buy any piece of crap they throw at you.

If you dont buy it they may consider something in the future ie patch or something or just bin it completely but if that happens it leaves a gap in the market that another developer may take up ,either way its not looking good & IW just wants to chuck out console games.

At least we won`t have to pay out for expensive upgrades unless you take bombjacks advice a 275 for what game how much

Thats just my personal view & opinion any way.

do you realy think that you and other pc gamers not buying it will damage them financialy, i dont think so

I wish it could realy!

I wish we had a good shooter coming out at the same time that did give us dedi servers...

But the sad fact is, they got us by the balls...

Yep they sure will Bombjack so get out ur wallets u guinea-pigs !

Had enough of buying **** (omg word censor alert  )crap in the last two years ,but they do make fetching tea mat`s though ;)

But I still think its all over for the cod series on the PC myself cos ur end up paying to use IWNET / map patches & so on & so forth & ur have to play by their rules etc & in the end u may as well go & buy a console instead so as I said there's no point .

Come on EA with BFBC2 with those dedi servers & tools !

Guys

I was very suspicious , but after trying it, i think the game is fantastic!
And allot of guys in my clan too.

Yes, the IW.net is a curse and a blessing, but i am sure it will improve!

As for wars.. why not we can do that easy

It will need to improve as will the vac system with hacks already floating around
http://www.break.com/game-trailers/game/modern-warfare-2/modern-warfare-2-multiplayer-hacks-gameplay-video.html
I know they need to get the siganture but 3 days OMFG sort it out IW

As for wars yes they are easily possible with the private matches but no comp mods.
also found that if you invite friends to join you in game lobby you create a party when you then join a server you are all put on the same side.

Yeah pity really ... the game had a lot of potential but as a competitive game its a fail .

Its deffo possible to have a clan in the game but not a competitive one .. I dont play it myself but most ppl i have talk to about say its great fun on public but the private server system doesnt really cut it when it comes to games ...
